What’s in a mask?
The exterior is typically made of vintage kimono silk. The lining is a softer, lightweight silk, usually again from a kimono. After thorough, gentle cleaning, both are bonded to stabilisers to help the mask retain its folds and add extra filtration. There are no visible stitches when the mask is worn to give a uniquely clean look – in fact the only visible stitches are discreet ones on the lining holding the folds in place. Offset straps prevent bunching and improve the fit. A concealed nose wire can be fitted if required.
